Hi Everyone,
We purchased the High Country from Florence Zundel in 2011. We are located right in the heart of Cooke City, with a beautiful view of Miller, Republic, Mineral, Woody, and Baronette mountains. You can spot sheep from just outside your door on Mineral (on most days). We are 4 miles from the entrance to Yellowstone Park and 15 minutes from the Lamar Valley, which is full of the wildlife you come to see. We have worked so hard on the place and continue to work on it to provide a clean and comfortable place to rest at the end of a fun-filled and tiring day. We have added the cutest little gift shop/wine/beer/grocery store in the office to provide the essentials you need in case you forget anything. We also have some fantastic non-essentials.
In the winter, the town is anything but quiet. It is bustling with snowmobilers, down hill skiers,snowboarders, and cross country skiers. Cooke City has some of the best powder in Montana and if you don’t do any of that, you can’t beat that drive through snowy Yellowstone. It is truly breathtaking to see the Lamar in the winter.
